Process Engineer

AP Professionals has partnered with a local manufacturing company in search of a highly skilled Process Engineer with expertise in Python programming. The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency in optics, imaging, with a focus on product design and the development, configuration, and optimization of related manufacturing and metrology processes.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to transition new products from concept to production, ensuring they meet customer specifications for both standard and custom products.Design, develop, test, enhance, and document products, manufacturing processes, and test fixtures.Create and update work instructions for manufacturing processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.Establish, document, and maintain calibration and preventive maintenance procedures for manufacturing, inspection, measurement, and test equipment.Develop and implement best practices, process improvements, and innovative solutions to enhance production efficiency, yield, and quality.Identify and troubleshoot product quality issues, conduct root cause analyses, and provide detailed investigation reports and rework instructions.Coordinate and execute ad-hoc engineering tests in collaboration with Operations.Provide proactive second- and third-level support to production operations, diagnosing issues and determining the most effective solutions.Recommend process improvements to enhance line efficiency and reduce costs, while assisting in implementing other suggested enhancements.Achieve financial and business goals by delivering accurate quality forecasts, managing programs within budget and timeline, resolving challenges, and driving strategic functional improvements.EducationBachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.Experience2-5 years of experience in image analysis, photolithography, and optics manufacturing.Experience working within ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality management systems.Preferred certification in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or other process improvement methodologies.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other CharacteristicsFamiliarity with barcode verification systems and industry standards such as ISO/IEC 15415, 15416, and 29158.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Proficiency in Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, and Pandas for data analysis and visualization.Ability to develop custom Python-based tools for product assessment.Knowledge of database systems, including SQL and NoSQL, for process data storage and retrieval.
