Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Medical Device)

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to work in office in St. Petersburg, FL, to directly support the design and development of complex electromechanical medical devices. Looking for strong medical design engineering background for hardware/devices within complex medical device, aerospace, automotive, or similar related industries. This will be a W2 contracted role, starting at 6 months with possible and likely extensions (unlimited). Ability to implement mechanical architecture needs within time and cost constraints. Expected to demonstrate a level of expertise in mechanical engineering fundamentals that matches or exceeds the expertise of our customers. Consult on mechanical architectures, assess technical requirements and competencies needed during quoting and oversee design progressions during product developments.This person will be able to understand client applications and instrument interfaces and create appropriate design according that will also comply with Design for Manufacturing standards. Other responsibilities include understanding how to integrate medical components and strong hands on experience with Enclosure Design. Will represent our company Design Engineering team in technical customer discussions / meetings.Minimum *Commitment to a long term W2 contract with possible extensions, based in St. Petersburg, FLBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field of study10+ years of experience as Mechanical Design EngineerSolidWorks 2023 or 2024 proficiency is a must. CREO 8.0+ proficiency is a plus.5+ Years experience in Enclosure Design, Microvalve and Spring Selection relative to design.Plastic Injection Model Experience from Design perspective.Medical devices experience in autoinjector technology is a plus; or coming from regulated industryMaterial Selection for Compatibility medical device and ability to apply Standards such as IEC 60601 and IEC 61010.Hand on experience is a **** integration of medical components.Windchill / PTC Work Group Manager is a plus.
