Mechanical Engineer We are seeking a passionate, hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of high-performance shutter systems and security-related products. This role is key to driving product innovation and optimizing our portfolio for cost, quality, and complexity. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, influencing product decisions and providing technical support to field and sales teams.Key **Lead the design and development of new products from concept to production, ensuring optimal performance, manufacturability, and cost-efficiencyPerform load calculations, FEA, material selection, and apply DFA/DFM principlesImprove existing products by identifying cost reduction, quality enhancement, and manufacturability improvementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into actionable design specificationsProduce layouts, detailed drawings, and installation instructions to support internal teams and field installersStrong mechanical and structural aptitude with problem-solving and creative thinking skillsAbility to work effectively under tight deadlines with minimal supervisionExcellent collaboration skills and a customer-focused mindsetHigh energy and results-oriented approachAbility to use tool room machinery (hand and power tools)Willingness to travel for field investigations if requiredEducation & **6+ years of experience in design engineering related to building materials, construction, or engineered products (New Product Development and Sustaining Initiatives)Knowledge of extruded metals, heat treatment, hardware, and other materialsExperience developing motorized mechanismsExperience with FEA, measurement tools, and tolerancingStructural engineering and construction drawing experience is a plusExperience with rolling shutters, window treatments, door systems, or windows is a plusBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree (PE license is a plus)Technical *Proficiency with MS OfficeProficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor (or equivalent)Compensation & **Competitive base salaryEligible for personal performance bonus + company-wide profit sharingFully paid employee health and basic life insurance401k with 100% company match up to 10% (after 1 year)Paid vacationThis is an exciting opportunity to be part of an industry-leading company that provides high-security solutions to commercial and residential customers.
