SHP () is seeking an energetic, highly motivated licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer specialized in Plumbing. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing leadership to our Plumbing design team, developing highly efficient and sustainable design solutions in a cooperative architectural environment. A successful candidate should have the ability to serve in a leadership capacity through all phases of a project, from criteria development and conceptual design through technical documentation and construction.The principal responsibilities of a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Plumbing include:Working with the Mechanical Engineering team to develop design options for our projects and clients especially related to plumbing, fire protection, water distribution, storm drainage, sanitary waste and vent, and natural gas distribution. Size, select, design and schedule plumbing system components including fixtures for new building and remodel construction projects. Fire protection design including pumps, standpipes and specialties. Perform field work on facility assessments and audits and prepare reports. Cost estimates for designs. Communicate and collaborate with other team members, including other engineers, architects, and interior designers.Manage client and consultant relationships.Provide quality control and review of drawings and specifications.Desired Skills and Experience:Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering is preferred. PE license required.Minimum 8-10 years of experience directly related to designing building systems including plumbing and fire protection. Strong computer skills utilizing Revit and/or BIM is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.Ability to oversee production, direct, inspire and mentor junior staffPrevious experience with an Architecture & Engineering firm would be beneficial.
