Job ***** Senior Automation Engineer***** Oak Brook, IL ***** $95,000-125,000LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our clients organization in the Oak Brook, IL area. Key **Provide technical leadership to the Automation Engineering Team.Mentor and collaborate with a small group of engineers and technicians to successfully execute manufacturing-related projects aligned with company objectives.Collaborate with Continuous Improvement team to optimize existing manufacturing processes for improved safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals by utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.Provide information for important manufacturing decisions involving calculating production, labor, and material costs, and estimating future requirements.Contribute to the development and review of electrical, wiring, and safety standards.Research and recommend the purchase of new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment to improve operations.Recommend maintenance procedures and spare parts inventory to maximize production efficiency and minimize downtime.Design and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment in accordance with applicable regulations and codes.Perform programming, troubleshooting, and updating on PLCs, robots, vision systems, etc., for new and existing equipment.**Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.Minimum 6 years of experience in Automation Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering role.Proven expertise in Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly.Experienced in troubleshooting electrical/electronic issues in manufacturing equipment.Knowledge and practice of safety protocols when exposed to high voltage applications.Experienced in programming/troubleshooting PLCs (Mitsubishi & Allen Bradley preferred), robots (Fanuc, Epson & UR preferred), vision systems (Cognex and Keyence preferred).Knowledge and proficiency in 3D CAD and drawing detailing, Solidworks preferred.Familiarity with TQM and Lean Six Sigma principles is preferred.Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment.Previous experience working around electrical circuits/panels including high voltage ones.Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time, sometimes over weekends.Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
