Midsize law firm is seeks a full-time legal secretary or paralegal to join a dynamic trusts and estates team.About the PositionThis position involves daily professional communication with the firm's attorneys, clients, advisors, courts, and government offices.This team member will work closely with attorneys to manage calendars and court appearances and maintain organized files for the attorney's matters. They will also prepare substantive materials for transactions and litigation related to trusts and estates. By way of example, under the attorneys' direction, the candidate will be required to proofread and finalize for execution simple and complex estate planning documents; prepare and file with the probate court petitions and other pleadings related to trust and probate proceedings; and prepare and submit property transaction materials to the relevant county recorder and assessor's offices.Candidate RequirementsCandidates must be able to organize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a sometimes fast-paced law firm environment. At least five years' law firm experience are required.The position requires excellent professional verbal and communication skills. Candidates must possess at least an associates' degree or a paralegal certificate.The ideal candidate will also have knowledge and experience in trust and probate transactions and litigation or a strong interest and willingness to learn.Candidates must be extremely capable with MS Word, Adobe, and other MS Office applications, including the use of professional plug-ins, templates, redlining tools, and cross-references. The firm also uses ProLaw, WealthDocx, and Lexis+.
