JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Description: The Executive Director is responsible for the overall administration and management of [Insert CAC Name] (CAC). Areas of responsibility include agency administration, direct program services, multi-disciplinary team facilitation, fiscal management, personnel supervision, board relations, and community & public relations. This is a full-time position, hired by and directly accountable to the Board of Directors. Minimum Qualifications: · Master's degree preferred or bachelor's degree along with previous experience in non-profit management. · Knowledge of current services to abused children in Aiken Cunty and surrounding areas. · Basic knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse. · Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team management skills. · Must be confident in creating a positive public image to represent the agency, make public presentations and lead the effort to provide a strong resource base for agency activities. · Experience in obtaining non-profit funding, including through private foundations and government sources. · Demonstrated skill in networking between agencies and professionals. · Demonstrated ability to write successful grants. · Excellent oral and written communications skills. · Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Responsibilities: Agency Administration 1. Ensures the agency, and all services provided within, are available per national accreditation standards. 2. Administers operational protocols, policies, and strategic plan goals as approved by the board of directors. 3. Oversees direct services, fundraising, and outreach activities to ensure that agency objectives are met. 4. Provides guidance and leadership in formulating a fundraising plan that meets the needs of the agency. 5. Provides leadership, guidance, and support to agency staff. 6. Ensures compliance with funding sources and regulatory requirements. 7. Ensures appropriate maintenance of CAC's facility. 8. Maintains accreditation standards as set forth by the National Children's Alliance and is responsible for writing and preparing the agency's application of re-accreditation every 5 years. Direct Program Services 1. Acts as back-up Forensic Interviewer, maintaining credentials necessary to meet accreditation standards. 2. Acts as back-up Child Advocate, maintaining credentials necessary to meet accreditation standards. 3. Maintains confidentiality of all client services, client records, case management reports, etc. 4. Ensures all direct service equipment is operational and functioning within the capacity of providing efficient, quality services to clients (Forensic Interview Equipment, Recording Software, Medical Examination Equipment, etc.) MDT/Case Review Facilitator 1. Acts as liaison between CAC and MDT partners and other community agencies, identifying issues and collaborating on identified needs. 2. Maintains Interagency Agreements to ensure that they are current and functional. 3. Coordinates and facilitates case review sessions, distributes appropriate case review lists prior to meetings. 4. Identifies training needs for staff and team members, provide resources/trainings to meet those needs. 5. Ensure that all MDT participants have reviewed and signed a confidentiality statement. Fiscal Management 1. Prepares and recommends an annual budget to the board of directors, then executes and monitors the approved budget for each fiscal year. 2. Ensures the agency complies with all federal and state nonprofit reporting requirements. 3. Ensure effective audit trails, working directly with the CPA to conduct annual financial statements. 4. Approves expenditures, documents income and expenses appropriately in QuickBooks, and reconciles transactions with the bank/. 5. Provides for proper fiscal record-keeping and reporting. 6. Reports the financial status of the agency to the board of directors. 7. Writes and submits grant applications and funding proposals as appropriate, maintaining all appropriate paperwork, grant reporting, and statistical data for funding needs. 8. Identifies potential funding resources. 9. Ensure the approved fundraising strategy is executive to meet the agency's budget needs. Personnel & Supervision 1. Administers board-approved personnel policies. 2. Hires, supervises, evaluates, and terminates staff using approved procedures and policies. 3. Oversees the writing of job descriptions, assigns appropriate PayScale ranges, conducts performance evaluations, and makes recommendations to the board of directors regarding salary increases that affect the agency budget. 4. Ensures adequate training opportunities are available for all staff and contractors. Board Relations 1. Prepares meeting agendas, directors report, and materials for board meetings. 2. Reports regularly to the board of directors on the status of the agency and its programs. 3. Facilitates the orientation of new board members. 4. Works with the board to meet the fundraising goals of the agency. 5. Serves as ex officio member to the board and participates on all board committees as appropriate. Community & Public Relations 1. Serves as the primary spokesperson for the agency and chief liaison to community groups and the press. 2. Develops promotional material and marketing items to promote programs and services of the agency. 3. Creates and maintains the agency website; oversees all social media publications. 4. Oversees development and growth of agency public awareness, including the promotion of child abuse prevention and awareness campaigns. 5. Provides presentations, tours, and trainings to community members as needed. 6. Promotes a positive image of the agency and the services provided within. 7. Develops and maintains good relations with community members. 8. Maintains membership and good standing with national and state organizations that provide guidance, oversight, and accreditation of CAC's.
