POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe IP Legal Assistant/Docketing Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and clerical support tasks related to the firm's needs and will handle all aspects of docketing for an extensive global IP portfolio. This role is primarily remote. Depending on the candidate's location there may be opportunities for in-office time. RESPONSIBILITIESProviding advanced administrative and clerical support to the firm's Office ManagerMaintaining and updating the firm's IP docketing system (AltLegal)Docketing all incoming and outgoing correspondence with clients and foreign associatesPreparing and sending deadline reporting e-mails to clientsGenerating IP portfolios for clients and conducting due diligence as neededGenerating regular docket reports and running customized docket queriesAuditing IP records for accuracyCreating and editing documents, presentations, and spreadsheetsCollaborating with attorneys and paralegals to manage IP deadlinesCorresponding with clients, foreign associates, attorneys, and paralegals about various trademark matters Managing daily routine tasks with high attention to detailProactively identifying workflow inefficiencies and proposing effective solutionsQUALIFICATIONSAssociate of Arts or Associate of Science degree required; Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and One Drive)At least 2-4 years of experience with trademark docketing and managing an IP docket is required; Experience with AltLegal docketing software is preferredPrevious experience in an IP assistant role within a law firm or corporate legal department is requiredWorking knowledge of U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement processes and procedures is requiredWorking knowledge of the USPTO, TTAB, EUTM, and WIPO systems is requiredExcellent organizational skills and outstanding attention to detailExcellent data entry, proofreading, and reading comprehension skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyAbility to efficiently work under pressure and adjust quickly to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, often unpredictable, environment with competing prioritiesAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team that is located in various officesA genuine interest in trademarks and intellectual propertyThe ideal candidate will be a team player who is highly detail-oriented with a genuine interest in trademarks and intellectual property, a strong and committed work ethic, a dedication to accuracy and thoroughness in work product, and the ability to provide proactive and effective legal support in a fast-paced environmentCOMPENSATIONThe salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000. Actual salary will depend on the candidates geographic location, relevant experience, and skillset. The salary range listed is just one component of Epstein Drangel's total compensation package for employees. Other monetary rewards include annual discretionary bonuses based on performance and profit-sharing contributions based on eligibility and firm profitability.
