As one of the largest suppliers in the cosmetics industry, we are a leading force in the research, development, and production of beauty products, shaping the future of the industry with every season.Position SummaryThe purpose of the Marketing Manager is to be the voice of the US market bringing a deep knowledge of the US beauty industry including brand and product dynamics and trends to our corporate teams in Italy. In addition, this person will be a driving force in the management and sale of our existing product portfolio in Congers, as well as proposing new product innovation ideas to address US market need gaps/white spaces. Lastly, this candidate will also be a key point of contact out of the New York, NY office to help manage our promotional activities which include Open Houses, Custom Client Presentations and also be a team player and positive change maker, maintaining strong and collaborative cross functional relationships and communication with our global marketing and product development teams in Italy (HQ), and Sales & Operational teams in the US (Congers and NYC).Essential FunctionsYou will be responsible for a specific makeup business unit / product segment: Managing its portfolio in the US and ensuring that the global portfolio developed out of Italy and other regions supports our US market needs. Providing the business unit team based in Italy with relevant market information about your product segment, including competitive analysis and new product briefs.Developing internal training and sales tools to ensure our US account development and sales teams have a full understanding of your product segment and use those tools to sell to clients. Defining the technology transfer plan for your product segment - the formulas developed by other regions that will be transferred to the US to fill portfolio gaps. You will support our US account development and sales teams for your product segment and a targeted list of clients, which includes presenting to clients during meetings, responding to ad hoc / custom client presentation requests, supporting the AD/sales team in responding to and managing client product briefs.You will support the US Marketing Team in daily activities with regards to the management of the New York Office, Congers and West Nyak Showrooms and Sample Rooms, which includes the tracking and inventory of new samples, inventory and replenishment of existing samples and the physical set up of collections in the showrooms. Marketing Intelligence: Local trend presentation: scout and identity emerging local market trends within the beauty industry, but also beyond, to inspire the global trend collection product plan.Local roundtable presentation: collect and interpret market, consumer and client data to identify product need gaps and growth opportunities and write up innovation briefs to inform the global innovation plan. Local competitive analysis: oversee the monthly tracking of new product launches in the assigned product categories, purchase & evaluate the products and create product evaluation slides for the presentation sent to Italy. Brand strategies: keep track of the marketing activities and product portfolio of our key clients to identify white spaces / need gaps. Product Development: Ideation, briefing & development of new products related to your specific makeup business units / product segment in collaboration with the business units in Italy, the global transfer team and all the key cross-functions in Congers (R&D, Industrial Engineering, Packaging, Sourcing...). Congers portfolio management: Keep portfolio presentation, excel file and physical sample inventory up to date. Work with R&D to update portfolio formulas driven by regulatory changes,Technology Transfers and Formula Localization: develop and implement the annual formula transfer plan for your specific makeup business unit / product segment in collaboration with the business units in Italy, the global transfer team and all the key cross-functions in Congers (R&D, Industrial Engineering...). Business DevelopmentUpon request, create customized presentation for key client meetings.Help AD/sales in the product selection process to respond to new client briefs.Support client formula developments and approvals if needed, working closely with local labs, sales and operations. Develop brandstrategies including market and brand data analysis (IRI, NPD, Euromonitor...), product portfolio analysis, price positioning, distribution channels, 360 marketing campaigns, targeted product innovation needs.Train sales/account development to select, position & present products to clients.Present products to Clients at Global / Local Events. Coordinate presentation materials and product samples for US Events/Open Houses.Job Qualifications4+ years of experience in product development and marketing at beauty brands or beauty contract manufacturers - preferably in makeup, and not skin care.Passionate about all things beauty and fashion and actively tracks industry trends. Actively follows brands, influencers, celebrities on social media.Is capable for reading and analysis quantitative market data in excel. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Demonstrates strong adaptability and flexible thinking. Has a positive mindset and attitude towards change. Maintains a calm and collaborative attitude under pressure.Creativity:Able to demonstrate "out of the box" creativity.Strong concept ideating and concept writing skills. Passionate about trend research as well as art, design, fashion...Knows how to creatively research, brainstorm, take inspiration from unusual places, develop a creative vision and translate it into a highly engaging product experience. Strategic Thinking: Knows how to read, interpret and (re)format market data to build strategic recommendations. Is an accomplished user of market and consumer data platforms like Nielsen, IRI, NPD, Euromonitor, etc...Project Management:Strong cross-functional product development / project management skills.Has managed large-scale projects involving cross-functional teams. Able to collaborate, communicate effectively, positively & clearly with cross-functional teams. Highly organised, able to prioritise & manage a large number and variety of projects at once.Strong level of autonomous problem-solving skills. Other: Fluent in English; Italian is a plus. Excel and Power Point super-user, able to deliver high impact presentations in power point and conduct data analysis and project management in Excel.Already has the permission to work in the United States. Job will require to commute to our lab and production facilities in Congers (NY) on a bi-monthly basis to work on the internal product developments and client product developments (commute cost is covered by Intercos as travel expenses). International travels will be done on a "need by" basis. This position is not 100% fully remote.
