StevenDouglas is partnering with an oil and gas client in their search of Benefits & Payroll Specialist. This is a part-time (32-26 hours/week) position that will be 100% in office with every Friday off. Responsibilities:Act as a SME for specific health and welfare plans including self-funded medical plans and full-insured ancillary plansDaily GL coding for flexible spending account reimbursementsMonthly GL coding for medical and ancillary invoices, COBRA, and TPA invoicesUnderstand and analyze current and historical claim and engagement trends. Serve as primary contact for employees, plan vendors, and broker partnerProvide COBRA administration services for terminating employeesPartner with vendors to resolve employee escalationsCollaborate with payroll and ensure that employer contributions and payroll deductions are processed accurately and in a timely mannerWork with brokers to research employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value. Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billingsResponsible for compliance with applicable government regulationsDesign and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to other HR team members.Collaborate with payroll to ensure employee timecards are accurate for those out on short-term disability and/or FMLALiaison between employee and vendor regarding short-term disability processImplements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.Requirements:5+ years of Benefits experience including experience with self-funded medical plans and full-insured ancillary plansExperience in coding for flexible spending account reimbursements and medical/ancillary invoices, COBRA, TPA invoices, as well as performing account reconciliationsADP experience
