Actuarial Valuation LeadCompany OverviewMidwest Holding LLC, a modern financial services organization, seeks a skilled Actuarial Valuation Lead. Summary/ObjectiveThis position oversees key financial reporting, valuation processes, and operational initiatives. It requires hands-on technical proficiency, leadership, and collaborative problem-solving to build and enhance actuarial processes, and support critical decisions. Reporting to the Product Pricing and Development Actuary, the Actuarial Valuation Lead will drive the efficient and accurate production of actuarial financial reporting.Essential FunctionsValuation and Financial Reporting:In partnership with the Lead Actuarial Modeler and the broader team, build the internal actuarial valuation process.Calculate US Statutory, Tax, and US GAAP reserves for MYGA, FIA, and MYGIA products.Complete attribution analysis for various monthly, quarterly and annual results, and Board reporting.Calibrate the valuation process as products are added and methodologies evolve.Significantly contribute to the transition to fixed annuity PBR and ensure readiness for future requirements.Projections:Perform plan and capital (RBC and BCAR) projections, including the optimization of capital usage.Process Efficiency:Collaborate with the Lead Actuarial Modeler on actuarial model updates and automate valuation processes.Streamline data validation, liability extracts, and earnings analysis.Business Insights:Partner with IT and data teams to enhance valuation systems.Provide analysis on earnings impacts and financial performance drivers.Governance and Compliance:Maintain internal controls and support audit and regulatory requirements.Reinsurance and Assumptions:Support reinsurance deal evaluation and operational implementation.Conduct annual impact testing for assumption changes.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related STEM field.FSA designation required with 10+ years of actuarial experience.Expertise in US Statutory, US GAAP, annuity products, and GGY Axis.Experience with PBR and transitioning frameworks.Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.Proven leadership and team management experience.Why Join UsInnovative Culture: Work in a forward-thinking, adaptable environment.Leadership Impact: Drive business decisions and performance.Professional Growth: Access learning and advancement opportunities.Collaborative Team: Enjoy a supportive and team-oriented setting.Transformational Role: Optimize processes for efficiency and scalability.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position will not have anyone to supervise/Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
