Job Posting: Structural Project Engineer - Portland, Oregon (Hybrid)We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Project Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this hybrid role, you will manage all phases of medium to large-scale structural projects from inception to construction. You will have primary responsibility for budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, specifications, and working drawings while addressing engineering challenges and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. Your ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with diverse teams, and provide leadership will be key to your success.Key Responsibilities:Project Management: Manage medium to large-scale projects through all phases, including budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, specification, and working drawings.Design & Documentation: Prepare structural calculations, develop working drawings, and support the design team to ensure the design intent is met through all project phases. Maintain consistency with client goals, design principles, and project details.Problem Solving: Resolve structural engineering challenges and provide timely solutions to ensure projects remain on track.Communication & Collaboration: Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, team members, and government agencies. Collaborate with consultants and other team members to resolve conflicts and ensure project success.Supervision & Delegation: Support Senior Project Engineers by delegating tasks to staff, monitoring performance, and providing guidance for both positive and negative outcomes.Documentation & Protocols: Ensure all project documentation adheres to company and client standards. Write and edit specifications and correspond professionally with agencies, consultants, and clients.Business Development & Client Relations: Maintain professionalism in all client and consultant interactions. Assist with proposal preparation and client interviews.Management & Business Acumen: Estimate project hours and manage tasks within budget. Keep projects on track to meet cost-saving measures and contribute to project profitability.Design Responsibilities:Collaborate with the design team for programming, planning, and feasibility analysis.Promote design quality and ensure design integrity is maintained throughout all phases.Develop and integrate design principles with the project design team.Required Qualifications:Education: Engineering degree from an accredited university.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, including document production and project coordination.Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.Technical Expertise: Experience in preparing structural calculations, developing working drawings, and supporting all phases of structural design.Desired Project Experience:Heavy Facility Structural Design with Vertical Design expertise.Skills & Competencies:Proficient with documentation and office practice systems.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams.Knowledge of building and construction terminology and adherence to industry standards and protocols.Ability to work in a team environment, providing both leadership and support to ensure project success.Compensation: $110K - $130K per year, depending on experience.Ready to take the next step in your career?
