Senior Construction Estimator

Your responsibilities will include gathering and analysing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents to compute overall project costs.ResponsibilitiesReview and comprehend proposals, estimates, plans, specifications, permits, and related contract documents.Perform precise quantity takeoffs and develop subcontractor work parameters.Draft accurate and well-organised cost estimates for the entire project scope.Communicate effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, municipalities, and project representatives.Maintain continual communication with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.Create and manage project schedules.Organise subcontractor quotations and negotiate to ensure they meet contract documents.Meet with potential clients and professionals to discuss proposed services.Maintain unit pricing and a database for material and labour costing.Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred, or 4 years of equivalent experience.Required SkillsProficiency in understanding engineered drawings and blueprints.Strong computer skills, including MS Office and CAD.Previous experience estimating projects up to £3 million.Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design.Willingness to travel, work extended hours, and some weekends.Strong organisational, verbal, and written communication skills.Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.Ability to work in both office and field environments.Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
