As the Controller, you will be a critical figure in providing financial leadership and expertise across the company's operations. This position is responsible for overseeing all financial and fiscal management aspects of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting practices, and playing a key role in supporting business growth with accurate financial reporting, audit preparation, tax compliance, and revenue recognition.Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Adjustments:Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, making necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance.Ensure that accounting practices follow either a cash or accrual basis as appropriate for the business.Transition accounting processes to align with GAAP once the accrual accounting method is implemented.Revenue & Audit Compliance:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue in line with company policies and procedures.Tailor audit procedures to business processes by collaborating with key stakeholders to identify potential risks.Tax & Audit Expertise:Provide subject matter expertise in tax compliance, supporting the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns.Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.Transaction Reconciliation & Accuracy:Conduct thorough reconciliations of transactions between related parties, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.Identify discrepancies in financial records and provide actionable solutions to correct inaccuracies.Oversee bank reconciliation for all company bank accounts and ensure proper handling of transactions.Month-End & Annual Close:Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of entries, account reconciliations, and analysis.Analyze financial data and summarize financial status in monthly reports.Revenue Collections & Billing Oversight:Supervise billing schedules, chargebacks, refunds, and related audits to ensure accurate recording and collection of revenue.Oversee revenue collections from various payment systems, including Stripe, Shopify, , and others.Ensure refunds and chargebacks are appropriately adjusted in Netsuite and to close financial cycles.Cross-Departmental Collaboration:Support the FP&A team in commission reporting, identifying errors in ecommerce commission structures, and ensuring accuracy in commission spreadsheets.Assist the Foundation with accounting and ensure proper documentation of donations, supplies, and donor contributions.Oversee the credit card reconciliation process to ensure completeness and accuracy.Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership position.Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and applicable financial regulations.Minimum of 3 years of experience with revenue recognition.Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, risk management, and tax regulations.Familiarity with related party transactions and their accounting treatment.Excellent grasp of financial processes, including budgeting, reporting, and financial closures.Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Google Sheets, and accounting software such as Netsuite.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.Ability to develop relationships, foster trust, and command respect from others quickly.Capable of coaching and growing a team while driving improvements in processes.Project management experience and the ability to facilitate meetings effectively.Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets, particularly with complex formulas and data analysis.Knowledge of both accrual and cash-based accounting methods.Experience with Netsuite ERP or similar systems is a plus.Background working in/with a hyper growth startup highly preferred.Work Environment:This is a full-time position based in Aventura, FL, with regular office hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and additional hours as needed.Equal Opportunity Employer:CTTI is an equal opportunity employer.
