Electronic Technician

Insight Globals client, a leading manufacturer of Cable Television performance test equipment, has an immediate opportunity for an Electronic Technician. Responsibilities include test, repair, and support of Digital and RF Cable System monitoring products. Troubleshoot and support the use of production electronic test equipment.The ability to diagnose circuit problems to component level is required. Experience with Networking and Linux OS is desired. The successful candidate should have a AAS degree in Electronic Technology or higher with SMT/BGA component replacement experience. Responsibilities may include:Test, troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits of Digital and RF Cable System monitoring products down to the component level.Change Through-Hole and Surface Mount components including high density and BGA Integrated Circuits.Determine repair charges for devices out of warranty.Maintain a product repair database.Use the repair tracking data to recommend electronic and mechanical improvements to product design.Support manufacturing operations and personnel, as necessary. Support off-site contract manufacturers.Test products using IEEE and SCTE standards.Support Field Engineering remotely.Troubleshoot and support the use of production electronic test equipment.Networking, Linux OS, and Microsoft Access is desired.Qualifications:Associates degree in electronic technology (Preferred)2 years Electronic component level troubleshooting and repair
