Job Title: Site MEP Coordinator.Type of Employment: This is a contract position for the first 12 months with the potential to extend the contract or convert to a permanent employee.Work Schedule: Candidates will work 3 weeks onsite and 1 week remote. 40 hours is guaranteed.Locations: Chicago, IL however, our projects are nationwide so candidates need to be flexible and willing to work in various states to support our customers. Candidates typically work at one location for several weeks or months before moving to another site. Possible locations include Virginia, Texas, Arizona, Washington State, Wisconsin, Iowa, etc.Compensation: Salary, meal allowance (up to $70 day/receipts required), $60 monthly cell phone allowance, a company laptop will be provided. Candidates will book their own flight, rental car, and hotel but be reimbursed weekly for these expenses.Job DescriptionCompany Info: Our client is a leader in the design, build and construction of mission critical data centers as well as the installation of equipment. Their Data Center Solutions/Secure Power Division has some large contracts in progress as well as some about to kickoff and some in the pipeline. From a corporate perspective our client as put a freeze on headcount (full time hires) but needs contractors to support its current projects. These contractors will come on for 12 months initially but could be on various projects for upwards of 2+ years.Our client sold $500m of UPS and Switchgear to Microsoft for use in their datacenters in 2020, $500m in 2021, and over $500m for 2022 and 2023. This is for multiple locations and possible locations include Quincy/Wenatchee WA, northern & southern VA, Phoenix AZ, Dallas TX, Milwaukee WI, and De Moines IA. Each location usually lasts at least 4 months and often times 6 - 10 months depending on the quantity of switchgear and UPS per location.Assistant MEP Technical CoordinatorThe Assistant MEP Technical Coordinator will work under the MEP Technical Coordinator and work with the customer as electrical equipment (UPS and Switchgear) is being installed at the customer. He or she shall understand the design documents, specifications, references, drawings, submittals, equipment lists, Arc Flash Studies, startups and commissioning compliance documents and all owner project requirements. The Assistant MEP Technical Coordinator's role will support in coordinating the owner's project requirements (OPR) with the onsite activities to ensure compliance and work with the commissioning authority or the owner designated representative along with the Project Team. They will be an onsite representative of the client onsite and with a roughly 60/40 technical/coordination split.Responsibility Assistant MEPProject Planning: Review contract documents, including but not limited to drawings, submittals, equipment list, Arc Flash studies, startups & commissioning compliance to ensure they meet the basis of the design.Communication: Strong communication skills between field staff and other stakeholdersQuality Assurance: verification processes to ensure that systems meet project requirements including installation means and methodsManage project status and information in the form of formal briefings, on the weekly MEP callAttend regular project meetings to address action items and project schedule.Understand site safety including LOTO and PPERepresents Schneider in a professional manner, self-motivated productive, and enthusiastic team memberMust be dependable to achieve the target within the established time framesRequirementsInstallation and field experience in the electrical industry.2 years of electrical trade school (journeyman wireman is preferred)Data Center experience is a plus.commissioning data center equipment is a plusenergy marshal on data center work is a plusArea foreman experience on large, high-profile projectsAdept at reading blueprints and associated building information.Strong knowledge of Microsoft, projects, workbooks, excel, word and outlookAbility to work effectively with co-workers across all business units.Willing to travel within the continental United StatesPreferred Qualifications/ExperienceOSHA 30NFPA 70E training within the first 30 days of employmentMinimum of 2 year Electrical/Electronic trade school degree and or Journeyman license preferred.Physical RequirementsAble to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 45 lbs.Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and climb.Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
