The company's primary focus is to develop distributed power generators that can operate on various fuel sources to future-proof against an ever-changing energy economy.Job Summary: Join our team as an Advanced Additive Technologist at their new Cedar Park, TX location. This role focuses on Direct Metal Additive Manufacturing (DMAM) using metal powders. You will be working hands-on with cutting-edge DMAM equipment, contributing to the development and implementation of new technologies, and ensuring the continuous operation of our production line. This is an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of additive manufacturing and drive down part costs.Here's what you'll be doing:Assisting with installation and ongoing maintenance of DMAM equipment (GE Additive, Concept Laser, EOS preferred)Participating in planned and unplanned maintenance activities, including laser optics calibrationSupporting continuous operation (24/7) of the DMAM production lineContributing to the development and implementation of new DMAM technologiesManaging and performing preventative maintenance, including laser system calibrationTroubleshooting and resolving unplanned downtime occurrences on additive machinesIdentifying improvements and streamlining post-processing steps involved with additively manufactured hardwareCollaborating with engineering on parameter development to increase print speed, part quality, and performanceTraining and developing other machine techs to improve overall support capabilitiesHere's what our ideal candidate has:Proven experience operating and maintaining DMAM equipmentFamiliarity with specific brands like GE Additive, Concept Laser, and EOSUnderstanding of machine design and development principlesElectrical/mechanical intuition to solve machine-level problemsKnowledge of optical systems and controlAbility to troubleshoot complex systems-level problemsWillingness to travel (10% travel to and from TX to OH site)Key Words: additive manufacturing, DMAM, GE Additive, Concept Laser, EOS, laser powder bed fusion, LPBF, machine maintenance, calibration, field service, metal additive, 3D printing, manufacturing engineer
