In this role, you will design and develop cutting-edge electrical systems for complex medical devices, making a real impact on patient care. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet regulatory standards and deliver high-performance, life-saving technologies. This position will play a critical role in the design and development of our next-generation shockwave therapy devices.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical circuits and systems for medical devices, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to integrate electrical components seamlessly within the overall product design.Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and prototyping to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability.Conduct risk assessments and failure mode analyses to ensure electrical safety and regulatory compliance (e.g., IEC 60601-1).Develop and execute test plans for verification and validation of electrical designs, including EMI/EMC compliance testing.Support regulatory submissions by generating and maintaining detailed technical documentation per FDA, ISO 13485, and IEC standards.Work with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production, optimizing designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.Stay up to date with advancements in electrical engineering, medical device technologies, and regulatory requirements.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).2+ years of experience in medical device electrical design preferred.Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and power management.Experience with high-voltage systems, signal processing, and embedded electronics.Familiarity with medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601-1) and design control processes.Experience with SPICE simulation, Altium, OrCAD, or similar EDA tools.Understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrical safety considerations in medical devices.Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues at both the component and system levels.SkillsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills in complex electrical systems.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, regulated environment.Attention to detail, especially in documentation for regulatory compliance.Position DetailsCompensation: $80,000 to $130,0000Full-time, 40+ hours/week, in person at our Boston office.Why StemWave?StemWave is the ideal environment for ambitious professionals who thrive on challenge and innovation.
