This position will be based in our Washington, DC office and supports a hybrid-telework schedule, following in-office probationary period.This paralegal will join our paralegal team that supports our offices in DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Columbus, and Detroit. The best candidate will have experience in assisting attorneys in all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation, filing of briefs, and document control, production and review; preparing legal documents; performing legal research and compiling data from a variety of reference sources. Proficiency with litigation support database systems as well as general law firm software technologies such as Microsoft Office 365 applications, a document management system, and law practice timekeeping software is required.Duties may include but not limited to:• Drafting, proofreading, formatting, and editing memoranda, letters, motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.• Assistance with written and document discovery, including preparation of records subpoenas and document productions.• Filing and service of pleadings, motion papers, and briefs.• Organization of documents for hearings, depositions, settlement conferences, and trial.• Formatting and editing marketing materials and client presentations, requiring the use of PowerPoint and other desktop publishing software.• Tracking and managing case status and filing deadlines.• Administrative tasks, such as calendaring, copying, scanning, and typing.• Assisting with paper and electronic case file organization.• Other duties as assigned.Required skills include knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to learn new software applications; the ability to work independently; strong communication and organization skills; and the ability to juggle multiple assignments. Candidates must have experience with litigation case management and document production. Must be familiar with federal, state, and local rules for electronic filings and be able to format legal briefs, including generating tables of authorities and tables of contents.Please No Recruiters!
