Personal Injury Paralegal - Mid-Size Law Firm (On-Site, Downtown Chicago)Job SummaryA mid-size law firm located in downtown Chicago is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join the team. This role is essential for supporting attorneys in a variety of personal injury cases and requires a candidate who is highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks. This position is on-site and requires daily attendance at the firms downtown Chicago office.Key ResponsibilitiesCase Management: Assist attorneys with handling personal injury cases from intake through resolution, including communicating with clients, gathering facts, and maintaining case files (Source: SG25 US Legal.docx).Document Preparation: Draft pleadings, correspondence, discovery responses, subpoenas, and settlement agreements with minimal supervision (Source: SG25 US Legal.docx).E-Discovery and E-Filing: Conduct e-discovery and manage e-filing in local, state, and federal courts as needed (Source: SG25 US Legal.docx).Medical Record Management: Obtain, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and other relevant documents to support case preparation.Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case progress and addressing concerns professionally.Calendar Management: Maintain litigation calendars, track important deadlines, and schedule mediation, hearings, and depositions (Source: SG25 US Legal.docx).Legal Research: Conduct legal research and fact-check case law to support litigation efforts using online databases like LexisNexis or Westlaw.Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trial by organizing exhibits, creating trial binders, and managing trial logistics.Qualifications and RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 3-5 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on personal injury litigation preferred.Education: Associate degree, bachelors degree, or paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program required.Technical Skills: Proficient in legal software (e.g., Clio, Case Management Software) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Knowledge: Familiarity with Illinois Rules of Civil Procedure and court filing requirements in Chicago and Cook County.Organization: Strong time management and multitasking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.On-Site Requirement: Must work in the firm's downtown Chicago office Monday through Friday during standard business hours.
