The division is made up of specialized teams, each playing a critical role. Internal Maintenance handles repairs and preventative maintenance for company-owned equipment, while Independent Contractor Maintenance provides tailored support for owner-operators. External and Breakdown Maintenance minimizes downtime with roadside assistance and repair partnerships. Corporate Maintenance oversees fleet strategy, cost control, and maintenance programs. Equipment Sales and Purchasing ensures the right equipment is sourced and sold to meet fleet needs. Compliance and Licensing manage regulatory requirements, while Fuel optimizes efficiency and cost control. Together, these teams keep our fleet dependable and ready to serve customers across North America.THE POSITIONReporting Structure: The Manager - Maintenance reports to the Director - Maintenance.Compensation: Base salary + 10% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with potential after-hours responsibilities.Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Manager - Maintenance ensures the efficient operation of equipment maintenance by leading a team, managing vendor relationships, optimizing costs, and reducing downtime. This role plays a critical part in maintaining equipment performance, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with operational and financial goals.Key responsibilities include:Team LeadershipOversee and support maintenance coordinators and direct reports, ensuring workflow efficiencyHire, train, and develop new maintenance coordination personnelEstablish team performance expectations and ensure accountabilityManage daily workflow, vacation schedules, and phone coverageConduct weekly team meetings to align priorities and resolve challengesFleet & Maintenance OversightManage scheduling for preventative maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtimeMonitor CPU and implement cost-saving processesReduce downtime through proactive management of units out of serviceEstablish and maintain a preferred vendor list to ensure quality serviceInform CRST Operations of ongoing maintenance concerns and resolutionsFinancial & Operational EfficiencyMonitor phone times and dropped call percentages to ensure responsivenessAddress immediate coordinator needs to optimize efficiency and service levelsVerify invoices, manage warranty claims, and approve paymentsCreate purchase orders (POs) in the Transman systemEnsure accurate documentation and reporting of maintenance activitiesEXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTSQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferredSuccessful completion of a CRST background check and drug screenSkills and ExpertiseExperience managing maintenance teams and coordinating fleet operationsStrong vendor management and negotiation skillsAbility to optimize maintenance scheduling and reduce downtimeKnowledge of fleet maintenance software (Transman preferred)Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsCRST CORE VALUESSafety at the Core of All We Do - Integrity in Every Decision and Action - Commitment to the Success of Employees, Customers, Agents, Contractors, and CommunitiesEEO STATEMENTAll qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
