We are seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a dynamic and fast-paced legal team in the San Jose area. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in litigation support and will be responsible for assisting attorneys throughout all phases of the litigation process, including pre-litigation, discovery, trial preparation, case management, and post-trial activities. This role requires strong organizational, research, and communication skills, as well as expertise in managing high-volume cases.Key Responsibilities:Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing a variety of complex litigation cases across different practice areas, ensuring deadlines and court requirements are met.Maintain and organize case files, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery documents.Discovery Support: Perform detailed document review and analysis for relevance and privilege. Assist with managing eDiscovery tools and platforms, including document production and preservation. Draft and finalize discovery requests and responses.Trial Preparation: Organize and manage trial binders, exhibits, and witness files. Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and communication with witnesses, clients, and expert consultants. Support attorneys in preparing presentations, exhibits, and trial strategies.Legal Research and Writing: Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other tools as needed. Draft and cite-check legal documents, including motions, briefs, and pleadings.Client and Team Coordination: Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, court personnel, and outside vendors (e.g., court reporters, process servers). Provide frequent updates to clients regarding case developments and deadlines.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field; paralegal certification from an ABA-accredited program is highly preferred.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, with experience handling eDiscovery and trial preparation.Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal research tools (like Westlaw, LexisNexis), case management software, and eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Concordance). Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills are essential.Teamwork and Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and other team members.Organizational Ability: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
