DIVERSITECH JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Distribution CenterAssociateDEPARTMENT: Distribution Center or Production Facility REPORTS TO: Shipping or Receiving Supervisor / ManagerJOB SUMMARY:The Distribution Center Associate is responsible for performing several cross-functional warehouse activities within the distribution center in accordance with established guidelines and procedures such as loading, unloading, picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders. He or she is also responsible for operating a fork lift or other material handling equipment for the intention of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting of inventory. This personnel is also accountable for all general warehouse daily duties. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Unload/Receive/Inspect/Segregate/Palletize/Load productsLocate products from storage locationsStock inventory in proper location as directed by WMSReport issues and status of auditsScan shipping carton ID #sPrint and tag shipping labels onto parcelsTransport goods to proper storage or picking locationsPick and pack customer orders efficiently and accuratelyAssemble customer ordersStack orders onto palletsMaintain clean/safe working environmentAlert supervisors to possible hazardsOther projects as assignedSKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment, and have a strong attention to detail. Must be a proactive "self starter" who can work well with minimal supervision.Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently enough to communicate with co-workers, to understand and provide directions, to respond to management inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.Ability to commit to company policies, principles, and processes.Basic knowledge of simple math concepts.Basic knowledge of use and operations of material handling equipment, with the ability to maintain annual certification requirements.Proven ability to multitask, set and manage priorities based on management and customer requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required. INTER-RELATIONSHIPS Direction is given by the Shipping or Receiving Supervisor / Manager. Will interface with multiple levels of management depending on assigned facility. Will interface with all levels of personnel including production and other distribution team members. May interface with third party drivers or distribution channel personnel. WORKING CONDITIONS Typical distribution operation or manufacturing facility. Work is performed in a general manufacturing environment. Seasonal temperatures may be extreme at times including excessive heat or cold. Work area is often dusty and dirty due to the concrete materials required for production. Most work takes place in an office environment housed within a manufacturing facility. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Some duties will require the DC associate to possess a class A forklift certification and be proficient on all types of lifts used within the facility. Must have ability to use hands and fingers to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. In addition, must have the ability to move freely throughout the facility without physical limitation, and capacity to sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to use narrow aisle material handling equipment on which the operator may ascend to a level of twenty (20) feet to pick or stock inventory, depending on facility assigned. Ability to handle weighted inventory, typically a minimum of 20 lbs. but could be as much as 70 lbs.Ability to stand, stoop, reach, and walk to do the job, and the ability to perform work with hands and/or arms in the same repetitive motion above and below the shoulder level.5:00am - 3:30pm (M-F)or4:00pm - 2:30am (M-F)
