For a detailed list of benefits, please visit our website. Overview of Unit/Department This position is located in our Virtual Care Command Center at Cox South Hospital. As a virtual nurse, you will be part of a brand new and innovative branch of healthcare, utilizing advanced technology to support patients and bedside nurses. Our virtual nurses are centrally located and use this technology to monitor patient vital signs, assist with admissions and discharges, collaborate with virtual physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and the Early Intervention Team. Job Summary The eAcute Virtual Med-Surg nurse plays a pivotal role in managing the care of adult or geriatric patients experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include completing admission and discharge processes, developing and maintaining care plans, patient education, medication and discharge teaching, care coordination, mentoring new nurses, and implementing evidence-based care. As a virtual eAcute nurse, you will assist primary bedside nurses with tasks not required to be done in person, as well as real-time quality and patient safety surveillance. Job Requirements Education: Required - Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Preferred - Bachelors Degree in Nursing Experience: Required - Minimum of two years previous nursing experience on an inpatient nursing unit; Preferred - Charge nurse or preceptor experience and specialty nursing certification Skills: Accountable and responsible for own safe clinical practice Basic computer skills and knowledge Excellent customer service skills Thrives in rapidly changing environment Self-motivated Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrate effective leadership abilities Exhibits valuable time management skills Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri; Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days
