Our high power charging stations and the software platform we build around them will be a critical infrastructure piece of the electrical grid and will complement the deployment of high-performance, low-cost, fast-charging infrastructure around America.The Role:Electric Era's software team redefines "full-stack" - we write everything from low-level firmware to cloud-hosted backend software to factory test infrastructure to artificial intelligence and simulation tooling. We believe in first-principles engineering with rapid iteration towards success.You will have the opportunity to join us in this mission, take ownership in part of the open-ended problem of EV charging infrastructure, and execute the creation of end-to-end software that will level up the industry's understanding of the charging experience. Your contributions will be critical to the long-term success of the company in making EV fast charging ubiquitous and affordable.Responsibilities:You will develop and own major parts of the Electric Era on-device software stackYou will source requirements cross-functionally to produce optimal first principles software designs and will present and defend those design decisionsYou will collaborate with our hardware partners and customers to ensure optimal system-level design for our product lineYou will be responsible for continued success of your software in harsh real world environments by championing appropriate software and hardware reliability practices as necessaryYou will learn from and educate other engineers to continuously elevate the Electric Era engineering team's technical acumenQualifications & Preferred Skills:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldExperience building and delivering software products running on baremetal or Linux-based embedded microprocessors/microcontrollersExperience with real-time and safety-critical systemsExperience in competitive engineering programs (e.g. FSAE) or applied research programsDevelopment experience in C, C++, Python, Golang, and/or TypeScriptCapability to support operations on-call rotations as neededStrong verbal and written communication skillsNote on Total Compensation:In addition to salary, all employees at Electric Era receive stock options.
