Assistant Project Manager - Infrastructure RefreshLocation: Hybrid (Oak Brook, IL - 2-3 days onsite)Type: Long-Term ContractAbout the Role:We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our enterprise clients large-scale network and infrastructure refresh across multiple locations. This role provides a direct growth track into Project Management, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in IT project delivery.The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the IT PMO, Planning Team, and Installation Team to ensure that all equipment is properly assessed, procured, and scheduled for installation. The ideal candidate has prior experience in an infrastructure refresh project and understands the fundamentals of networking equipment, deployment logistics, and project coordination. Key Responsibilities:Project Coordination & PlanningWork with vendors and internal teams to assess infrastructure requirements for store installationsAnalyze site survey reports, identifying equipment needs (racks, routers, switches, cabling).Collaborate with the Network Team to determine hardware availability and purchase requirements.Maintain an accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for each site, ensuring all necessary components are accounted for.Track and monitor equipment shipments and deliveries to ensure readiness for installation.Develop and maintain the Installation Calendar, tracking multiple locations in various project stages.Execution & Cross-Team CollaborationFacilitate meetings between vendors and the internal IT team to align on site requirements.Act as a liaison between the Planning Team and Installation Team, ensuring smooth handoffs.Work closely with store managers and business leaders to communicate installation schedules and expectations. Escalate issues proactively, ensuring timely resolutions and minimal disruptions. Assist in tracking cost estimates, quotes, and budget allocation for setup-related spending.Must-Have Qualifications. Experience with IT infrastructure refresh projects (network deployments, upgrades, or similar initiatives).Understanding of networking equipment (routers, switches, cabling, racks - no configuration required). Strong organizational and project tracking skills, including proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, Jira, or SmartSheets. Ability to manage multiple project timelines across different locations.Experience in vendor coordination and tracking Bill of Materials (BOM).Strong communication and stakeholder management skills (internal teams, vendors, MSPs, ISPs, etc.)
