Engineer in Training

Job DescriptionResponsibilities• Perform entry-level engineering design and conceptual planning professional work under the supervision of a Project Manager• Assist the project manager with various tasks related to design and drawings/specifications preparation• Assist with the preparation of preliminary engineering reports and feasibility studies including evaluating design alternatives, provide design recommendations for municipal infrastructure projects such as water distribution systems, water, wastewater collection systems, roadway design, and drainage/storm water engineering• Perform site visits, review reports, maps, as-built drawings, and any supporting to aid in the preparation of construction drawings.• Assist in the preparation of design drawings under the direction of project engineer and senior designer•Assist in the preparation of project specifications•Perform quantity takeoffs to aid in the preparation of cost estimatesQualifications• Bachelors in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited University.• Knowledge or coursework related to roadway design, drainage design, water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems.• Basic understanding of surveying work.• Internship experience is a plus• Knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS software preferable• Bachelors or Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university• 0-2 years of experience in the engineering field.
