POSITION GOAL:The Civil Project Engineer ll will coordinate and manage engineering projects.This position will oversee activities related to planning, designing, and overseeing projects such as airports, bridges, buildings, channels, dams, harbors, irrigation systems, pipelines, power plants, railroads, sewage systems, tunnels, and water supply systems.This position will also perform functions, including team coordination, monitoring scope/schedule/budget, invoicing, proposal preparation, staff planning, interdisciplinary coordination, and client interaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Perform and manage fundamental design and modeling tasks, including permit applications, CAD, or GIS work.• Stay abreast of governmental compliance requirements and complete all required records.• Assist in preparation and control of project assigned budget and approve process specification and design standards.• Perform the necessary data collection and calculations in as forecasting, analysis, and structure design. Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.• Collaborate with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.• Collaborate with low-level engineers and project engineers from within and other firm to share problems and solutions• Analyze equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs• Analyze and correlate scientific and engineering data and recognize discrepancies in results using a series of related detailed steps or processes• Review, evaluate, and verify the accuracy and viability of designs, data, reports, memoranda and other documents before submitting them to the next review level• Responsible for proper quality assurance and quality control on projects to ensure projects meet Company, Industry, and Client standards and expectations• Adhere to project deadlines and keep the Supervisor informed of any difficulties encountered on assignments• Responsible for ensuring a quality product is produced in accordance with the schedule• Perform other duties as assignedCOMPETENCIES:• Ability to prepare schematics & models, perform analysis & engineering calculations, develop plans, specifications & estimates, prepare technical engineering reports for various projects. • Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project, such as product design, preparation of specifications and product testing, in accordance with engineering disciplines of staff.• Must possess excellent budgeting and cost containment skills• Ability to stay organized and possess extreme attention to detail skills • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skillsQualificationsEducation: Bachelors degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineeringWork Experience: 10+ yearsLicensure: Professional Engineer (Required, IL Preferred) Responsibilities Include:Perform and manage fundamental design and modeling tasks, including permit applications, CAD, or GIS workParticipate in and manage data research, collection, and compilation effortsAnalyze and correlate scientific and engineering data and recognize discrepancies in results using a series of related detailed steps or processesReview, evaluate, and verify the accuracy and viability of designs, data, reports, and other documents before submitting them to the next review levelAttend all mandatory training and engage in continuing professional developmentCompetencies:Teamwork & Relationship BuildingProblem-SolvingClient ServiceReliability & IntegritySocial Awareness
