Most of this work will be on-site at client sites in various areas of Los Angeles and surrounding counties. Travel to those sites is required. The remaining job functions will take place in our up-and-coming office located in Pasadena, CA.This job involves heavy cross-functional work. You will be working directly with the various stakeholders at the client organization and our vendor partners. Our projects require having strong inter-disciplinary skills. This is a hybrid project manager / project engineer role. Not only will you execute the projects, but we expect you to be able to manage the work on-site and coordinate with various teams.We are looking for someone with experience managing and executing the following types of projects:Engineering & Design Projects (e.g., automation, equipment design and integration)Process Improvement Projects (e.g., lean projects, process optimization, Kaizen projects, process flow mapping, value stream mapping, future state roadmaps)Construction Projects (e.g., greenfield projects, brownfield projects, facility updates, renovations)Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Client Collaboration & Project Management Partner with clients to define project objectives and operational requirementsDevelop scoped statements of work (SOW) and manage end-to-end project executionCompile detailed reports outlining observations, solutions, and implementation strategiesPresent findings and recommendations to clients via Teams calls and workshopsServe as primary liaison between clients, vendors, integrators, and OEMs2. Site Assessment & Analysis Conduct facility evaluations (structure, utilities, workflows, resources)Document current-state operations through time studies, employee interviews, and 3D point-cloud scansPerform data analysis to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities3. Technical Design & Execution Create process flow charts and factory layout designs for optimized workflowsSpecify equipment requirements (automation capabilities, functionalities) and draft technical documentationDevelop safety/hazard analyses and FAT/SAT protocolsPropose tailored solutions (e.g., new production lines, custom/OFF-THE-SHELF equipment integration), working cross-functionally with our Designer4. Vendor & Cost Coordination Research equipment vendors, initiate technical discussions, and obtain rough-order-of-magnitude quotesManage contractor scheduling (electrical, plumbing, construction) and on-site vendor activitiesValidate equipment compatibility and lead pilot production runs5. Implementation & Delivery Oversee equipment installation, validation protocols, and staff trainingTroubleshoot integration challenges and refine solutions post-deploymentEnsure compliance with safety standards and client KPIsRequirementsB.S. or M.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing)5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting, whether as a manufacturing engineer, plant engineer, process engineer, quality engineer, industrial engineer, automations engineer, etc.Experience with automated equipment, including but not limited to packaging equipment, batch processing equipment, and raw material handling equipment.Experience managing and analyzing large sets of data such as product data, inventory data, process data, operations data, etc.Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment requirementsKnowledge of industry standards and safety regulationsGreat communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsExperience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologiesSolid understanding of software such as MES, ERP, MRPProficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (2D and 3D modeling, or at least the ability to understand them when presented)Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry including food, beverage, personal care.Experience in chemicals manufacturingExperience in battery manufacturingAbility to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
