Apex Systems is hiring a Release Project Manager to join a growing client in Greenwood Village, CO. Onsite Requirement: 4 days per week onsite in Greenwood Village, COExperience Required: 3+ years of experience with defect or release management as a part of your role Expertise in using JIRA - Creating Dashboards, JQL, Deep understanding of the SDLC and impact on release cyclesAbility to manage timelines, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure smooth delivery of releases according to schedules Expertise in managing changes in scope, schedule, or resources, while ensuring adherence to change control policies and proceduresAbility to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with releases, including dependencies, bottlenecks, and conflictExperience with release planning - managing multiple releases, aligning them with business objectives and priorities Familiarity with post release problem tracking and handling incidents effectively to ensure minimal downtime or impactWorking knowledge of Microsoft Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and documentation tools.Learning mindset, analytical and critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Ability to prioritize, set clear expectations, and focus on deadlines and deliverables.Ability to speak with people of all backgrounds and expertise, connecting with business leaders and technologists.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform release and defect management within our operations equipment engineering teams.Work across different functional areas coordinating defect ticket activities and serve as primary point of contact between Operations and our cross-functional partners: Engineering, Product, and Release Management. Drive resolution, prioritization, and updates for customer and non-customer impacting defects. Plan, organizes, facilitates, and communicates activities to promote software releases between test environments and into the production environment. Coordinate between the application and test teams and ensures that a structured approach to risk assessment and business impact is employed. Responsible for maintaining and providing continuous improvement of the Release Management (RM) processes, working methods, and tools. Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.Responsible for day to day oversight of adherence and to drive improved efficiency and effectiveness of the Release Management (RM) processes, policies, and procedures.Maintains Application Program/Stack specific documentations with input from the other RM team members.Provides operational level oversight and control through the use of Release and Communications Plans, System Organization and Dependency Charts established for each Program/Application Stack.Ensures the appropriate amount of planning is conducted based on method and complexity of the release in order to minimize risks and to clearly articulate impact to the stakeholders.Maintains highly accurate tracking of code releases and system maintenance for all environments, as applicable to each Program/Application Stack, to ensure environments are kept in alignment and to provide accurate Release Management (RM) metrics.Hosts meetings, generates reports, creates dashboards and optimizes defect intake process flows.Schedule and manage working sessions or trouble shooting sessions for high priority production and/or release blocking Issues.Works closely with Operations, Engineering, Product, and Release Management teams to track high priority customer and non-customer impacting defects. Create and own postmortem reporting on high priority defects once resolved.Engage Engineering and lab teams to involve external vendor issue resolution.
