You will work with a motivated product development and manufacturing team to develop energy products used all over the world, from California to Nigeria. As a Power Electronics Engineer, your work will focus on efficient, cost-effective ways to transfer energy between the grid, user devices, and lithium batteries.You *Work with ** Review and inspect PCBAs in their native EDA software. Use the EE lab for basic rework and preparing test leads / adapters. Apply electrical engineering fundamentals (power, RLCs, switching). Use bench equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, rack mount supplies and loads) for test and developmentDevelop firmware: Implement control systems and safety logic for high-speed microcontrollers controlling power converters. Debug and test your own designs. Work with version control tools in a collaborative setting.Be a team player: Assume responsibility for program-level goals. Propose strategies and solutions to diverse problems. Share risks, progress updates, and final results with the team. Work with a mindful and resilient attitude. Embody team values. Coordinate across the Brooklyn and Milwaukee development teams.***** to Brooklyn or Milwaukee no more than once per quarter, and to China or Africa to support builds or field trials approximately once per year.You **At least 5+ years experience doing component selection, schematic capture, and layout for power converters, with at least some experience in bidirectional AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion.At least 2+ years experience writing and validating firmware for power conversion (H-bridge control, control signal management, and safety interlocks).Familiarity with modeling, specification, and evaluation of wound magnetic components such as transformers, chokes, and large inductors.Proficiency with an ECAD platform such as KiCad or Altium.Proficiency with microcontroller platforms optimized for real-time power conversion, such as C2000 or STM32G4.Basic soldering and prototyping skills allowing instrumentation and experimentation.Skills that will improve the strength of your **Proficiency with Python and test automation.Familiarity with lithium battery systems.Knowledge of advanced PCBA skills such as hot air rework and blue wiring.
