Job **Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Land Planning/ Landscape Architecture Manager to lead and expand our land use, zoning, and entitlement practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, overseeing a talented team of planners and landscape architects, and leading projects of varying scales and complexity. This individual must have strong leadership, project management, and business development skills to support the growth and success of our practice.Key *Manage and coordinate clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout project lifecycles.Supervise and mentor a team of planners and landscape architects, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Work collaboratively with internal design teams, including engineering and architectural groups.Lead business development initiatives to expand the firms land use and zoning/entitlement services.Oversee project management activities, including contract negotiation, client billing, staffing coordination, project scheduling, budgeting, and construction administration.Develop and implement master planning, land use planning, zoning and entitlement strategies, site suitability studies, density studies, design charrettes, and concept plans.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards across multiple jurisdictions, particularly within the Washington, DC Metro Area.Advocate for and integrate sustainable design practices into planning and landscape architecture projects.Engage in marketing outreach efforts and represent the firm at industry events.Qualifications & *Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, or Architecture.AICP certification or licensure as a professional landscape architect is required.Minimum of 7 years of experience in planning, landscape architecture, urban design, or a related field.Proven leadership experience in business development and marketing outreach.Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and AutoCAD; familiarity with GIS and SketchUp is a plus.Demonstrated experience in sustainable site design and environmental planning is preferred.Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and provide innovative design solutions.Familiarity with land use and zoning regulations within the Washington, DC Metro Area is highly desirable.Preferred Skills & **Expertise in master planning, urban design, mixed-use development, commercial and campus-style development, and streetscape projects.Ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.Experience conducting community outreach and stakeholder engagement.Passion for creating sustainable and innovative planning and design solutions.
