About the Role Join our team to contribute to reducing the impact of natural hazards and climate risks. FM is a market leader in commercial and industrial property insurance and loss prevention, serving over one-third of FORTUNE 1000 companies with engineering-based risk management and property insurance solutions. FM helps clients maintain business continuity through state-of-the-art engineering and research. Responsibilities Analyze multi-decadal geodetic data documenting ground deformation (e.g., InSAR and GNSS). Create visualization tools and implement statistical analyses to derive value from these data. Develop predictive (machine learning) models to enable global monitoring of ground deformation. Requirements PhD in Earth Sciences, Geophysics, or a related quantitative field with solid research record, including publications. Solid knowledge of the fundamentals of space geodesy. Process-level understanding of the mechanisms causing ground deformation, including land subsidence. Demonstrated expertise with remote sensing data, including InSAR and GNSS data processing and interpretation. Experience developing statistical analyses and machine learning models. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, MATLAB, Java) and in using GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS). Experience in high-performance computing or cloud computing for big data. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate highly technical and scientific insights to non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently, think creatively, and interact within a team.
