Job Summary: Plan, conduct, and direct the evaluation and certification of property loss prevention products with minimal supervision in the area of building materials and assemblies. Evaluate product performance in relation to wind, fire, and other exposures using our state-of-the-art laboratories. Enhance technical knowledge and provide innovative solutions to property loss prevention and mitigation challenges. Key Responsibilities: Develop proposals and manage projects. Supervise tests, document results, and prepare written reports. Provide representation to trade associations through presentations. Collaborate with customers, attend technical conferences, and conduct tests at test facilities (less than 20% overnight travel). Work Environment: Based at FMs Engineering and Research facility in Norwood, MA, or our Research Campus in West Glocester, RI. Requirements: BS in technical area + 3 years experience or MS in technical area. Technical degree in civil, structural, environmental, or mechanical engineering preferred. Knowledge of building materials, components, and assemblies desired. Demonstrated project management skills, results analysis skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency required. Professional registration and knowledge of FM Global Property Loss Prevention Datasheets beneficial. Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and follow English instructions required. Exceptional customer service, communication, active listening, and relationship management skills essential.
