This role requires a strategic mindset, deep market expertise, and strong industry relationships to drive expansion, agent engagement and operational excellence.As the State Managing Director, you will own the P&L performance, implement growth strategies and maintain agent satisfaction while ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. You will serve as the face of SERHANT. in New York, leveraging your knowledge of local markets, competitive landscapes, and industry trends to position the brokerage for long-term success.Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Growth: Own and drive P&L accountability for the New York brokerage, ensuring revenue and profitability targets are met.Develop and implement strategies to expand SERHANT.'s footprint across New York's diverse markets, from NY to Long Island, Hudson County and Upstate.Leverage deep market knowledge to identify trends, opportunities and challenges within all operating challenges. Develop and execute plans to successful business outcomes.Maintain and grow strong industry relationships with key players, including agents, developers, brokers, associations, ancillary services and regulatory bodies.Collaborate with SERHANT. Studios, ID Lab, SIMPLE and Sell It to promote internal services that add value to agents and clients.Agent Success & Satisfaction:Serves as a trusted leader and advisor to agents, offering expert guidance on transactions, compliance and market strategyIdentify and mentor high-potential agents and team leaders, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to succeed.Encourage collaboration, innovation and shared success amongst agents and teams. Foster a culture of continuous learning, providing training, coaching and career development opportunities.Champion agent engagement, recruitment and retention, fostering a dynamic and high performing brokerage culture.Ensure prompt and effective resolution of agent concerns, disputes or challenges.Provide ongoing training mentorship, and market insights to enhance agent performance and expertise.Operational Excellence & Compliance:Act as the Principal Broker for New York, ensuring full compliance with state licensing laws, REBNY, board and MLS/RLS association requirementsOversee risk management programs, transaction reviews, compliance initiatives to uphold SERHANT.'s industry leading standards.Responsible for disputes and claims resolution in partnership with General Counsel.Maintain and enhance brokerage policies and standards of operation, ensuing policies align with company goals and compliance needs.Stay ahead of market trends, regulatory changes, and legislative updates, ensuring SERHANT remains proactive and competitive.Collaboration & Influence:Partner with NY State Agents and Agent Leaders as well as the executive leadership team to drive overall company success in New York.Communicate effectively and efficiently across all levels of the organization, ensuring transparency and alignment on key initiatives.Mediate conflicts between agents and resolve disputes with tact, diplomacy and fairness.Act as primary liaison between SERHANT and the state industry leader and regulatory entities. Navigate complex transaction challenges and regulatory issues with strategic problem-solving and decisive action.Represent SERHANT at key industry events, networking functions, and speaking engagements, enhancing brand visibility and credibility.*The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.Qualifications:Senior-level experience in brokerage leadership, with a proven track record of P&L management, agent growth and operational leadership.Live in and hold an active real estate brokers license, in good standing, in the state of New York with continuing education credits in real estate, management, and legal complianceExtensive knowledge of all major New York markets and their competitive dynamics, pricing trends, and regulatory nuances.Strong industry connections and relationships with key stakeholders in New York's real estate community.Deep expertise in real estate compliance, legal obligations and industry best practices at the state level.High-level business acumen, with the ability to analyze financials, drive profitability and execute strategic initiatives.Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to attract, recruit and retain top-performing agents.High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.Valid Driver's License in good standing.This role requires travel as needed.Skills:Excellent verbal and written communicationLeadershipProblem-solving and good judgement Service orientation Persuasion Immaculate organizational, technical, and administrative skillsActive listening
