ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTSince its founding in 1986, Student Sponsor Partners (SSP) has been providing private high school education and one-on-one mentorship to economically and educationally disadvantaged students across New York City. Thousands of students are supported each year by a sponsor and a mentor and attend private partner high schools throughout the five boroughs.POSITION SUMMARYThe Mentorship Engagement Manager position lies within the Programs Department. They track mentorship engagement through the iMentor platform and regular check-ins with pairs; lead and facilitate mentorship events; and identify, support, and re-pair mentorship pairs as needed. The Mentorship Engagement Manager analyzes mentorship engagement each month and implements strategies to enhance engagement including communications efforts and trainings and resources.The primary responsibilities of this role are to provide clinically informed support and guidance to a caseload of matches, assess progress of the relationships, and participate in program evaluation.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe responsibilities of the Mentorship Engagement Manager include but are not limited to:· Proactively communicate with key stakeholders relevant to the mentoring relationship.· Collect and enter ongoing efforts and evaluation data.· Maintain a positive work attitude by acting and communicating in a manner conducive to good interpersonal relations (e.g., helpful, courteous, pleasant) with students, mentors, donors, all public, co-workers and managers, in accordance with the spirit of SSP's mission.· Maintain positive relationships between mentors and mentees and their families.· Identify key algorithms for strong mentorship pairs and manage matches.· Match mentors and mentees on platform and host kickoff sessions with mentors and mentees and their families.· Conduct monthly analysis of mentorship engagement and regular monitoring. Report on engagement changes between pairs and the impact of team interventions to have mentors and mentees chat and complete monthly lessons, etc.· Create and implement strategies to enhance mentor and mentee relationships.· Provide support for mentorship pairs and track management on the iMentor platform.· Maintain channels of communication with mentees (students) and mentors through the platform and surveys, as well as regular check-ins with mentorships.· Plan and lead events for in-person and virtual mentorship pair activities.· Participate in creating mentor networking opportunities.· Provide mentor trainings and resources to mentors; create curriculum based on needs. Update mentor resource center on the website and create materials to support and guide relationships in collaboration with the Communications Team.· Perform additional duties as assigned.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE· Passionate about mentorship and volunteerism.· Highly effective interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication and presentation skills.· Excellent organizational and project management skills.· Ability to work with abstract ideas and synthesize information.· Strong analytical skills.· Strong attention to detail.· Empathic communicator who can quickly build rapport, trust, and credibility.· Exercises confidentiality and discretion.· Overall punctuality, dependability, and responsiveness to internal and external requests.· Enthusiasm to grow and willingness to take on new responsibilities as needed.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of 2+ years relevant work experience, including working with volunteer organizations and programs.· Must have at least two (2) years of experience in volunteer relationship management.· Two (2) years of event planning, recruitment, community giving, or program participation experience a plus.· Bilingual (Spanish speaking) a plus.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.OTHER REQUIREMENTS· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.· Evening and weekend work will be required to accommodate the schedules of the students, parents/guardians, and mentors.· Travel to meet students and families, mentors, and/or school coordinators on-site at schools or other sites
