Job Title: PresidentReports to: Board of DirectorsDirect Reports: Vice President of Operations, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Estimating Officer, and Contract AdministratorJob Summary Drive the overall vision and strategy of our company. If you are passionate about infrastructure and have a vision for the future of construction, we invite you to bring your expertise to our team.Responsibilities· Strategic Leadershipo Act as a liaison between the Board of Directors and executive leadership of our parent company. o Serve as the principal liaison with our affiliated companies.o Lead the annual strategic planning process, including the development and implementation of an annual business plan. o Champion safety and ethics as core values, building a culture of accountability and adherence to the highest standards in all company operations. o Responsible for the profit and loss of the company.· Business Development o Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, government agencies, and industry partners.o Drive business expansion by researching new markets, customer segments, and partnerships, while managing risks for sustainable growth.o Represent the company in third party relations including with the unions, bonding company, insurance company, and legal counsel.o Represent the company in trade associations, industry work groups, and the local community.· Financial Managemento Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to monitor and review financial performance. o Participate in the identification, development, and tracking of key performance indicators. o Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved profitability.o Review and approve the annual corporate budget. o Oversee internal costing processes, including equipment costing and asphalt mix costing. o Review and approve all payable checks for subcontractors and suppliers over $50,000.· Personnel Management o Supervise all personnel.o Oversee hiring, development, mentorship and retention of senior management and mid-management staff. o Participate in labor contract negotiations, representing the interests of our company. o Oversee the preparation of annual at-will employment letters, including determining appropriate compensation and bonuses. · Estimating Managemento Oversee all bidding activity and strategy. o Participate in bid reviews to assess project risks, evaluate risk tolerance, and determine appropriate assignments.· Field Operations Managemento Oversee all Field Operations, including the management of the equipment, shop, and asphalt plants.o Identify and analyze field operations and projects to optimize performance, enhance efficiency, improve profitability, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.o Oversee and implement annual equipment acquisition decisions. · Legal and Contract Management o Oversee the negotiation of contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, goals, and industry standards.o Review and sign all contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders.o Review and approve any proposed changes to any contract.o Analyze contracts to identify and assess company-specific risks, ensuring that potential liabilities are understood and mitigated throughout the project lifecycle.o Act as the primary point of contact for legal counsel on issues related to claims, labor disputes, contract negotiations, or other legal matters as necessary.Requirements · College degree in a technical field required.· 15-20 years progressive management experience in the construction industry. · Experience in material production processes and asphalt paving.
