Compensation will include both salary and equity. Act as a "fire fighter" for engineering / hardware-based, material team needs. This will include setting up new equipment and testing with the materials team, fabrication as needed, maintenance and repair of existing equipment and molds. Work in a hands-on manner to modify or design new parts for equipment as needed. This may include metal work, plastics work, etc. Work closely with the Materials Team to help refine the manufacturing process in development. Liaise with local suppliers to procure parts and supplies related to the prototyping and production process. Liaise with local fabricators/suppliers to procure fabricated parts related to the prototyping and production process. Cradle to grave design, commissioning, validation, quantification, and training for all mechanical equipment systems. Act as the equipment designer, leading the execution of various hands-on engineering tasks related to the production of machinery used in our manufacturing process. Work alongside all members of the team, to assist with the design, assembly, modification, and operation of industrial manufacturing prototypes. In the future as we bring mold manufacturing in house, serve as the SME and operator for a 5 axis CNC machine producing molds and other parts for our equipment and company. QUALIFICATIONS: • At least 5 years of experience as a hands-on Mechanical Engineer. • B.S. or above in Mechanical, Industrial, or similar Engineering or equivalent experience. • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit, very responsive, hands-on, and willing to work hard, in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills. • High level knowledge and understanding of GD&T requirements. • Understanding of Design for Manufacturability / Design for Assembly Experience with additive manufacturing, sheet metal design, CNC machining, welded assemblies, and general metal fabrication. • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor Professional / Vault Professional, Solid works experience acceptable as well. • Experience procuring industrial equipment.
