Associate Capital - San Francisco, CA
Apply NowJob Description
California Barrel Company (aka Associate Capital or CBC) is seeking to hire a Project Manager to support development and construction of a Herzog & de Meuron-designed life science/clinical building scheduled to break ground on Block 2 at our flagship San Francisco megaproject, Power Station, in 2025. The 300,000-square foot life science/clinical building will be built-to-suit for the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and is expected to remain under development and construction for the next 5 years.About Us: Associate Capital is the agile and growing real estate team behind Power Station. In our colleagues we value hustle, collaboration and creativity in the face of complexity. We have nimble capital and are not prone to bureaucracy at the expense of efficiency or common sense.About Our Work: Power Station sits on the largest privately held, waterfront development parcel in San Francisco. It is nestled among other large projects such as Mission Rock and Pier 70 that are collectively transforming the city's eastern waterfront. At Power Station, we are creating a vibrant, urban ecosystem with 5.4M square feet of new residential, office, life science and thoughtfully curated retail space, all interspersed with 7 acres of green parks and open space. How did we get here? The power plant was decommissioned in 2011, and the site was acquired by Meg Whitman's family office in 2016. We fully entitled the site with unanimous approvals in 2020 and started horizontal/infrastructure construction in early 2021. These milestones were achieved in record time in San Francisco. Today, the site is fully demolished, remediated, excavated and graded, with extensive street improvements underway, and we have constructed a state-of-the-art sea wall and stabilized our historic power structures. A 105-unit, 100% affordable housing building commenced construction this spring. In addition to Block 2, an interim waterfront park is also expected to break ground in 2025. We anticipate at least $500M in total construction volume over the next few years, and the future looks bright for Power Station's remaining twelve buildings, which will be developed over the next decade or more.
