Production Planning Engineer

OverviewSeeking a Production Planning Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and enhance production scheduling. The ideal candidate has Lean/Six Sigma expertise and experience in high-volume manufacturing. Success is measured by cost reduction, cycle time improvement, and throughput gains.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan & adjust production schedules based on demand, inventory, and labor.Optimize workflows using Lean tools (6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).Monitor capacity & resource utilization, recommending staffing/equipment adjustments.Enhance inventory management to reduce waste and costs.Analyze costs & track KPIs (cycle time, yield, defects) to drive improvements.Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.Ensure regulatory compliance (ISO, OSHA) and support process training.QualificationsBS in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering (MS/certifications preferred).5+ years' experience in production planning (automotive, aerospace, fabrication preferred).Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor) and data tools (Excel, Minitab, Power BI).Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.Work EnvironmentOffice-based with frequent production floor visits.
