QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 3 years prior Catering Sales experienceSuperior attention to detail, organization, and time managementA passion for excellent customer serviceResponsibilitiesThe Account Manager is responsible for identifying, developing relationships, booking and producing events with those who need catering servicesCreate customized and distinctive catering proposals. Therefor prior knowledge and capability in writing food & beverage menus is required.Background in food & beverage operations, including understanding of kitchen, Back of House & Front of House duties preferably with catering operations are favoredIdentify and develop sales opportunitiesCoordinate and execute outreach, referrals and face-to-face appointmentsCollaborate with the Sales team on pursuing all appropriate opportunities for client solicitation and relationship buildingCollaborate with the Sales Team on proposal development that exercises creativity, discretion and independent judgment in determining how to assemble an event to suit each clients taste and budgetDevelop solutions to any cost concerns and resolve any challenges or problemsNegotiate terms acceptable to the company and reconcile differences to get clients to "yes"Develop contingency plans and act promptly and effectively when closing problems ariseOversee information gathering to final event production and implementation of the eventOrganize production schedules, attend tastings, site walksAssist in planning the floor plan for the eventLead production meetings to disseminate information to various departmentsPlace orders with additional vendors as neededCreate final paperwork and distribute it to various departmentsAttend events to oversee successful execution from start to finishProcess invoices/purchase orders to ensure payments to vendors as neededMaintain and nurture clients to create long-lasting relationshipsDeliver a high level of client service, meet commitments, seek client input and anticipate client needsFollow-up after events with clients and venue managersThis is a full-time post.
