Construction Project Engineer

Your new company:A general contractor based in Washington DC are looking to hire a Construction Project Engineer due to continued growth of the organization. Successful applicants will currently live in DC/surrounding area and have 2+ years of Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager experience in construction working for a general contractor or subcontractor.Your new role:As a Construction Project Engineer you will provide administrative and project management support to 3 seasoned Project Managers. These Project Managers are incredibly supportive, veterans of the industry and will help develop your skill set. The mid-long term goal for this position would be to coach you to stage of where you are being provided your own projects and move into a Project Manager position.Your task is to support the team to ensure that targets set for the project are completed to the required standard of quality and within the set time and budget. You will be involved in a variety of tasks including project scheduling, bidding, take-offs, procurement and cost controls; as well as the management of RFI's, submittals and change orders.The projects that you will be working on will be commercial construction focused, with most of the projects being within the district.What youll need to succeed:1+ years' experience working in the construction industry for a general contractor or subcontractor.Experience in commercial construction, this could be on new build or interior renovation projects.Bachelor's degree in a construction related discipline preferred but not essential.
