Applications EngineerJob PurposeThe Applications Engineer position is accountable for supporting the sales team of the company. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: successfully designing, pricing and processing Amiad's advanced solutions to the customers with high quality and in a timely fashion. There are no supervisory responsibilities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview Requests For Quotations (RFQ), Requests for Proposals (RFP) and validate Amiad's compliance with the requirements and/or provide comments and exceptions as neededProvide the optimal filtration solution for the opportunity via calculating, sizing and selecting the appropriate technology and product, for either standalone or integrated system designsProvide the business proposal by working with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and the channel partnerDevelop a system Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and guide Engineering department in creating detailed general arrangement drawings to be sent with the proposal and/or to be used for cost estimationCompile the quote, including final pricing, drawing deck and other requested documentation and present the quotation to the RSM or channel partnerPrepare and submit submittal documents as part of the order fulfillment processDevelop templates for cost, operations, descriptions, P&ID and a parts database to increase quoting efficiencyCreate order data sheets, create/provide part numbers to simplify the order entry processCoordinate and conduct kickoff meetings for all new sales ordersWorking with Sales Leadership, develop and execute growth plans for key accounts that are linked to the organization's market objectives and strategiesCreate positive and productive business relations with Company appointed independent sales organizations, OEM accounts, and engineering firmsProvide product training and sales presentations to Company independent sales rep/distributors, engineering firms, and other customers as neededGain a thorough knowledge of competitors, their products, and activitiesHandle customer inquiries as needed in a timely, courteous, and professional mannerActively search for improvements in the selling process for cost reduction, improved efficiencies, and higher safety and qualityUp to 10% travel is required for trade shows and customer visitsMaintain solid communications and relationships with customers and Sales TeamParticipate in training activities to improve customer understanding of the filtration process and Amiad productsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Environmental engineering, Chemical engineering, Mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience2-5 years in a similar role with familiarity in water treatment technologies and solutions.Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with customers as well as at all levels of the organizationHave a working knowledge of key design standards including UL, cUL, CSA, NEMA, IEC, ASTM, ANSI and ASMEAble to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in order to meet required deadlinesSoftware applications - Competence with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.Consistently show patience and courtesy to customers, diplomacy and ability to resolve sales and equipment related problemsEffectively integrate into and work within a team environmentWork EnvironmentProfessional office environment and occasional field environment may occurRoutinely required to use standard office equipmentExpected to be proficient with a variety of computer programs, including MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)Must adhere to company safety policies and wear the required personal protective equipment as neededPhysical DemandsRequired to stand, walk, sit, use hands to operate office equipment, talk, and hearMay occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 20 poundsTravelMinimal travel requiredOther DutiesPlease note: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities.
