The Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading the sales team to meet and exceed goals. The essential duties include managing and developing key partners, dealers, and manufacturer representatives. This position will grow and mentor the internal Sales Team. This position will report to the President and be located in Kalamazoo, MI. Essential Functions -Be aware of the internal and external competition from local and national companies who work in similar areas and keep up to date with the overall economic landscape.Look for expansion opportunities, like new customers, markets, dealers/reps, and industry developments. Take advantage of possible opportunities that can occur to advance the company.Evaluate the overall state of the company and understand where it can improve and what it is doing well.Contribute to the sales area of the business to add to profitability.Create a work atmosphere that will attract, retain, motivate and develop sales and marketing professionals.Collaborate with marketing for any trade show planning / attendance, campaigns, new product introductions, distributor collateral / social media, and strategic planningActively solicit feedback, communicate internally, and participate in best practice improvements based on voice of customers, dealers, and competitorsRecruiting and hiring sales staff and developing training programsMotivate the sales teams to achieve their goalsProvide all necessary reports and other data to the company to facilitate decision-making; weekly/monthly reporting on bookings and detailed sales forecastsOutline and manage sales budgetsAssist all departments to support on time delivery and startup of productsReview customer activity, anticipate consumer needs and improve customer satisfactionEstablishing and maintaining key customer relationshipsConduct technical seminars for dealers/reps/customers to increase their awareness of Clausing products and problem-solving capabilities.Provide application data for distributors, customers, and our manufacturing departments.Interface with joint commitments and a flow of product and sales information.Competencies - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce CRMLeadership skills to lead departments and employees to follow-through the plan and goals set forwardEffective leadership, communication presentation, interpersonal and customer service skills required In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniquesStrong working knowledge of the company's products, competitive products, and the marketTime management to organize tasks and finish them by deadlinesDecision-making skills that higher-ups must do in a business such as cutting costs and expanding company businessAnalytical thinking to arrive at conclusions after analyzing data and informationWork Environment - Office &/or remotePhysical Demands - The job duties are associated with normal office tasks; light lifting of parts may be required on occasion.Percentage of Travel Required - 50 - 60%Education & ExperienceMinimum Education: Two years technical certification or business courses and minimum 7 years' experience in a sales leadership positionPreferred Education: Bachelor's degree in sales or businessPreferred Experience: 7-10 years in capital machine tool sales, applications, engineering, and/or leadership; Certified Manufacturing Technology Sales Engineer (CMTSE) certification also a plusAAP/EEO Statement InCompass LLC and its subsidiaries (Bourn & Koch LLC, Clausing Industrial LLC, DuBois Equipment Company LLC, Midwest Automation LLC, and Timesavers LLC) provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, creed, ancestry, sexual or affectional orientation, marital or veteran status, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, status with regard to public assistance or any characteristic protected under federal, state or local law.
