Job Title: Junior Broker / Graduate Location: 55 Water Street, New York, NY (hybrid with 4 days in the office)Role: The Indirect Property Desk in New York is part of a global team of 7 who specialize in intermediating OTC trades in non-listed Real Estate and Infrastructure funds. Since 2010 we have agreed over $25 billion worth of transactions across 2500 trades between holders of these funds. We are the leading intermediatory in this space. Our client base is institutional and encompasses Banks, Pension funds, Municipalities, Wealth Managers and Consultants. The opportunity here is to join, at entry level, the US desk and help expand and grow the secondary market for unlisted funds. The aim is to provide a virtual marketplace, as we do in Europe, for this trillion-dollar market. The Junior Broker role is heavily focused on developing skills in negotiating, closing deals, marketing, pitching report writing, settling structured and sometimes complex deals and providing an efficient execution service for our clients. The successful candidate needs to be driven and self-motivated. A smart, hard worker who is both a creative thinker and analytical. Organized, methodical and ambitious. Responsibilities:Reporting to the Head of Americas Indirect Property, the responsibilities of this role include:Intermediating OTC secondary market transactions in Indirect Real Estate and Infrastructure funds, growing revenue by finding and matching buyers with sellers Agreeing and settling transactions in individual funds as well as marketing portfolios Maintaining and deepening our existing client relationships Identifying new investors and promoting the service we offer, building and expanding our US operationHandling the settlement of structured deals Liaising with Fund Managers to open doors to new clients Writing pitches and pitching for new business Maintaining databases of fund performance, investors, client holdings, deals done. Writing regular promotional reports on market activity and updating our website Some overnight travel will be requiredRequired Skills:Preferred, but not immediately essential exams: - SIE, Series 63, Series 7 Prefer a bachelor's degree in business, Finance or Real Estate and excellent academic credentials. Some financial experience would also be helpful Exceptional interpersonal and client-oriented skills, both tenacious and persuasiveExcellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable presenting in front of an audienceSelf-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit. Creative and proactiveOutstanding time management skills and ability to juggle several projects under pressureAbility to analyze financial reports and draw insightful conclusions Enthusiastic, positive mindset. A can-do attitude that sits well within our dynamic teamProficient in Excel and PowerPointBase Salary:The expected base salary for this position is $60,000. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
