Automation TechnicianPosition ** Direct HirePosition * Buffalo Grove, ILPosition * $25/HR - $32/HR (Depending on Experience) Both Day & Night Shifts available*** The Automation Technician role supports automation engineering services activities such as hardware and software design and development (non-production).Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system componentsTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceabilityPerform scheduled preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related componentsEnsure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment are completed on a regularly scheduled basisUnderstanding of PLCsRead and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawingsAnalyzes engineering test results and implements changes to resolve problemsCollaborate with the automation team in the qualification process of automated systemsRecords procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or methodMaintains software, documentation and equipment to the latest revision or operational specificationsAssists engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for all automation solutions per specificationsTrains other technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipmentProper use of power tools and measuring equipmentStrong awareness of safetySpecialized job responsibilities may be required for certain positions. These could include one or more of the following **Assists with customer presentations and interfaces with customersAssists engineers with outside third-party automation developmentsOrganizes documentation (specifications, schematics, and procedures)** Typically requires an Associates degree, military training, equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experienceTypically requires 2 years of related experience (PLC's, HMI's, etc.)Demonstrates advanced technical skills which may be used to conduct on-the job training and/or lead/guide other employeesHighly skilled with ability to move between projectsDemonstrates broad knowledge of functional techniques and has input to process improvementApplies new technologies and technological changesContributes to and improves techniques/ conceptsAssists in developing goals/targets of line or departmentRequires little to no instruction. Requires little to no supervision
