This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of an organization, transitioning software development from external vendors back in-house while ensuring scalable and efficient cloud solutions.You'll drive cloud platform strategy (especially AWS), lead data architecture and ETL processes, and oversee and build an engineering team. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance technical execution with strategic leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Solution Design: Architect and implement scalable, secure cloud solutions, with a strong focus on AWS.Data Architecture & Modelling: Design and optimize data models, ETL pipelines, and SQL-based solutions to support business intelligence and operational needs.Engineering Insourcing: Lead the transition from external vendors to an internal engineering team, improving code quality, agility, and innovation.Infrastructure & DevOps: Develop a robust infrastructure strategy, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance while championing DevOps best practices.Stakeholder Communication: Act as the technical liaison for leadership and business teams, ensuring alignment between engineering and company goals.Audit & Disaster Recovery Planning: Implement strong audit controls and disaster recovery strategies to ensure system integrity and compliance.Requirements10+ years of experience in engineering. Experience in leadership roles, focusing on cloud platforms, data architecture, and solution design.Expertise in AWS cloud solutions and experience with other cloud platforms.Strong proficiency in SQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes for enterprise data management.Hands-on experience in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automation.Coding proficiency in Python, Scala, or similar languages.Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.Ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic leadership and team management.Please apply below and we can then set up a call to discuss the role in more detail.
