The Center for Improving Youth Justice (CIYJ) is looking for a full-time, high-energy and exceptionally organized Administrative Assistant located in the Boston area to join our team. This position is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our organization and successful execution of events that advance our mission. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational and attention to detail skills and demonstrated abilities managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. We are a small team who value collaboration, initiative, authenticity, fun, resourcefulness and hard work.CIYJ's mission is to improve juvenile justice outcomes for young people, their families and the community by integrating research into practice. The administrative assistant will work to help us employ four main strategies:Integrate research-based practices and continuous improvement into agency and facility operations through our core Performance-based Standards program;Support justice-involved young people directly to overcome financial barriers with scholarships, reentry and employment assistance;Promote reentry data best practices through training and technical assistance andIncrease knowledge about what works in juvenile justice by offering our national Database for Researchers.Key ResponsibilitiesOffice Administration: Develop, maintain and document administrative processes; maintain accurate records and filing systems, both electronic and physical, oversee the CIYJ calendar, manage office supplies and equipment.Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule and coordinate logistics for all meetings, trainings and events, assist in planning and executing events including participant coordination.Basic Accounting: Pay bills, maintain and update records and financial/administrative documents including contracts.Communications: Handle internal and external communications, including drafting correspondence and managing mailings.Board and Committee Support: Assist in preparing agendas, minutes and coordinating follow up actions for board and committee meetings.Qualifications · Minimum three years' professional experience in an administrative or similar role, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.· Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.· Exceptional organizational and time management skills.· Strong written and verbal communications abilities.· High level of positivity, professionalism and problem-solving skills.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and database management tools.· Passion for social justice, youth advocacy or nonprofit work is helpful.Benefits:· Competitive salary with benefits.· Flexible work environment (hybrid/ remote options).· Professional development and growth opportunities.· Meaningful work that impacts the lives of justice-involved young people.To apply:Send resume and cover letter by March 6 to jobs@ with the subject line: Administrative Assistant Application - YOUR NAME.CIYJ is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.Join us in making a difference in the lives of young people.
