Our client, a global producer of sustainable petrochemicals, has a permanent opportunity for a Manager Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) Sourcing, Projects be based in Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA.About the RoleThe Manager of Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) Sourcing, Projects will create the strategy and lead the commercial activities in support of CCS Local Commercial Workstream. This position will report to and support the VP Commercial and Business Development, while taking full responsibility for leading the commercial negotiations and maintaining business relationships with external project partners. This role is also expected to follow trends in national industrial and energy systems, CCS decarbonization strategies and projects, and maintain external relationships to identify opportunities applicable to client's projects. This position will be working cross-functionally with external JV partners and internal company technical project stakeholders, and other workstreams including but not limited to Operations, Technical, Energy sourcing Public Affairs, and other teams. The functionality of this position will evolve through the maturity of the project and will become an integral part of the running operations of the production site also supporting various procurement activities for CCS and other workstreams.ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and maintenance of Low Carbon Project Commercial Workstream Workplans for CCS. This includes, setting project milestone plans, seeking adequate resources to execute, establishing action plans and follow-up at steering and work group levels.Lead CCS local commercial workstream and work with the CCS Local Commercial Workstream team to develop and implement this CCS sourcing strategy and milestone plan.Lead commercial negotiations with external parties including CCS developers and maintain business relationships with external project partners.Work with local commercial workstream team and the legal and regulatory teams, in developing all the contractual agreements that support the CCS workstream. As negotiations are progressing, maintain a negotiation framework that outlines the issues with each bidder, and maintain benchmarking among bidders.Work with internal and external functional groups and partners to monitor permitting and community matters regarding Carbon Capture and Sequestration developments in the local jurisdictions, and at a state/national level.Work with the Carbon Intensity Workstream to develop the calculation and certification process towards CCS Carbon Intensity requirements.Work with Finance to establish credit support for CCS Agreements.Stay up-to-date on trends in industrial decarbonization and maintain external relationships to identify new opportunities.Prepare and present reports to stakeholders on the progress of CCS projects and initiatives.Identify potential risks associated with CCS decarbonization project and develop mitigation strategies.Required SkillsBachelors Business or Engineering5-10 years of experience in commercial oil and gas, CCS or related field.Keen awareness and understanding of procurement and process mindset.Project Management for growth infrastructure projects or commercial projects.Proven track-record of project management and / or entrepreneurial activities (strategic and operational results).Travel required up to 50% of time, mostly domestic within Gulf Coast Area.Preferred SkillsStrong knowledge of industrial (gas/pipeline) markets in the Gulf Coast area.Strong relationship building skills.Strong negotiation, commercial and communication skills.Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.Solid Microsoft Office skills.Entrepreneurial mind-set.Visionary & strategic thinking.Autonomous and initiative-taking.Project Management and Organization skills.Target-oriented and committed to achieve objectives.Pay range and compensation packageThis is an excellent opportunity to become part of a leading sustainable petrochemicals producer.
