The DC Engineer is a crucial role in the day to day DC operations contributing towards the new DC build in Sacramento, CA. Assist with hardware rack & stack and OS installs as part of new datacenter build.Provision layer 1 network connection and perform basic level testing to confirm first hop connectivityCoordinate with ITAMS team to receive and maintain appropriate inventory.Ensure all datacenter resources are properly monitored, accessible, and provide automated alerting when things go wrongResponsible for managing hot spares for all production hosts & servicesAble to perform intermediate level remote hands role in troubleshooting of hardware, OS & network issuesKeep track of rack level space & power utilization and capture data in a centralized locationPerform daily visible inspection and proactively inform issues to the relevant asset ownersResponsible for creating and maintaining detailed***Experience working in a complex mission critical data center environmentWorking knowledge of datacenter, network, and compute deployments at scaleWork on design and layout of data centersWork with stake holders to understand the design and layout of datacentersWork with vendors to ensure proper amount of cables and racksWorking knowledge of SNMP, rPDUs, UPS systems, Client systems, etc.Excellent time management and communication skills are absolute mustsShould have intermediate level knowledge of networking concepts, topology & protocolsShould have admin skills in managing Windows & Linux systemsShould have experience in creating & maintaining setup diagrams, system hand-over, inventory & spares management documentationExperience managing hardware install, troubleshooting & parts replacement tasksAbility to step up and take ownership to bring complex tasks to completionAvailable for off-hour & weekend maintenance activities
